Meet The Team
Chris was initially hired as the Worship Director in 2015, spent some time as the Youth Pastor, and took over as Lead Pastor in 2018. His heart and desire is to see people's lives transformed through a relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. He and his wife, Brooke, are incredibly extroverted and love spending time with people, with the hopes that Jesus' love radiates from them into everyone they are with. When Chris is not engaged in ministerial work, he engages in a handful of sports, spending time with his wife and dog, Addie, or hanging out with friends.
Brooke is driven to see the vision of Encounter Church come to fruition and plays an integral part in helping to make sure that happens. As the head of Human Resources at EC, her heart is poured out every week into making sure that each individual she comes in contact with knows they are welcomed, loved, and that they belong. When she is not working, she still makes a point to spend time with others and shine her light. Some of her favorite things to outside of church are playing with her dog, being active with friends, or reading in her library. She also loves Zumba and Crossfit.
Michael was first brought on in January of 2019 as the youth intern and accepted the role of Youth Pastor in April of 2019. Since then, Michael now serves as the Associate/Youth Pastor. He desires to see the upcoming generations come to know God and to see their lives transformed through a life-changing relationship with Jesus. When Michael is not doing ministerial work, you can find him spending time with his wife Ceci, daughter Natalie and dog Jazmine. He also enjoys hanging out with friends, and engaging in different sports.
As Executive Assistant, Cecilia plays a crucial roll in keeping the behind the scenes running smoothly. She has been apart of Encounter Church since 2019, when her husband, Michael, was hired on as Youth Pastor. She helps him every Wednesday night with their Youth Ministry night held here at 6PM. She became secretary of the church in the summer of 2020 and has been involved with administrative ministry ever since. Outside of her work here, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
Caleb has been apart of Encounter Church since 2019, and shortly after came on as the Worship Director with his wife Jasmine. At the age of 19, he interned at Freedom Center Church for two years under the Youth Ministry. Since then, he has been involved with worship and prayer events all over the area. Outside of worship, he runs the Flint Community Clean Up on Saturdays. He loves the Lord and desires solely to see heaven invade earth. Outside of ministry, he loves longboarding, disc golfing, travelling, and spending time with his family.
Jasmine has been with Encounter Church since 2019, and shortly after came on as the Worship Director with her husband Caleb. Worshiping Jesus is apart of Jasmine's salvation testimony, and her heart is to see people connect with Him on a deeper level through worship. When she isn't planning at the church during the week, she is enjoying spending time with her large family, hanging out with her friends, playing her childhood favorite "The Sims", or doing activities outside. Her hope is to see the love of Encounter Church radiate through the community of Flint.
Ron has been with Encounter Church since 2020. After experiencing his own encounter with the Holy Spirit, he decided to dive in and help out where he was being called to. Ron came on as the Production Manager in early 2021. His responsibilities include running and facilitating all technical sides of Sunday service. Ron has a servant's heart and desires to see people moved and changed by Jesus like he was. Outside of ministry, Ron enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing basketball, and hanging with friends.
Lillian has been a member of Encounter Church for six years. After devoting so much time to the church, her call to ministry led her to become the children's director. She has been in this position as Children's Director for two years now. She teaches kids between grades two and five, bringing the important Christian values to kids every Sunday morning during service times. Her goal in her classroom is for the kids to learn about God, specifically by building relationships with them and teaching them how to pray. She hopes that they bring these practices into their own homes, and back to their parents.
